Yay! Day #1 The day finally came and we hooked up HITCH and hit the road for Brooksville, FL .. the home of acres and acres of Orange Groves. No photos yet! But Will McLean Festival .. here we are at Seratoma
Our supposed 3 hour drive turned into 5 1/2 -- Pulling the rig, HITCH-baby, is a slow go , but we are here safe and sound and tucked away under the Oaks at the Seratoma Boys Ranch.
Once settled in we took a way around the campground -- 3 stages, workshop areas, Songwriter Circles already in place, vendors setting up (woot woot), campers popping tents, and music on the loud speaker already getting us in the groove. And, I am in my glory -- kicked back with the lights up and ready to roll. We don't often see this vastness of land over on the east coast of Florida -- this is a nice change. The cows are our neighbors here too.
IN HONOR -- NEVER FORGET!!!
A Table for the Missing
It is beautiful and heart-warming to see the Patriotism that the musicians and festival coordinators hold for our Veterans. This is a little tent prepared especially for those veterans we have lost over all the years and wars. Each item symbolizes their presence and below the photo, take your time and read their prayer that says:
A Table for the Missing
(see prayer below)
The Table represents: The Round Table showing Everlasting Concern for the Veterans,
The White Tablecloth symbolizes the Purity of their Hearts in the Fight for our Freedom,
The Single Red Rose symbolizes the Fallen and their Families
The Yellow Ribbon symbolizes our determination to Remember, Continue to Search, and to Display our Memories
The Bible represents the Assurance of Faith which sustains us and helps us Find Peace.
The Candle represents the Upward Reach of each Spirit
The Slice of Lemon is to remind us of the Bitter Fate of each of those who will Never Return.
A Pinch of Salt is to Symbolize the Tears of Friends and Family.
The Glass in Inverted because They Cannot Toast at this Time.
The Chair is Empty - They Cannot Sit with us.
NEVER FORGET!

THIS KEEPS IT ALL IN PERSPECTIVE AND WE ARE GRATEFUL TO BE HERE SHARING THIS IN THIS COMMUNITY.
UNTIL TOMORROW.......
UNTIL TOMORROW.......
and the rest of the days 2-4.......music music music
The vendors were quite the hit too -- working all day long preparing their wares and enjoying the surrounding music. (such as: Amy Carol Webb)
We each picked up a few workshops ... guitar pickin', flute 101, drumming with Annie Wenz, percussion with Annie, and more. Lots of fun and lots of things to do.
We took a road trip one morning over to Brooksville, FL and Spring Hill to check out that area for potential relocation. Spring Hill was a big YES. Very nice and new areas growing and expanding toward the coast. My kind of town.

Following are a few of my favorites ... couldn't see them all, but we attempted to. Amy Webb on the last song with all the musicians.
Mean Mary .... fantastic picker, singer, and grinner.
