A last minute decision to head to Cape Coral to see my youngest grandson, Jaxson Thad Rogers, and his daddy and mommy .... turned out to be a little on the
This was a quick run before we leave for cooler climates in July and visits to our Atlanta family. As fast as kids grow, Jaxson is at that 1 year old + stage and worth a visit to see the cuteness before the 2's and while cuddles are still A-OK.

So, off we went, heading Southwest ... Hitch behind us and staying close. It was a perfect ride there and looking forward to seeing Jaret's (daddy's) new house with the mowed strip on the side especially for HITCH!....
All went perfectly, AND THEN......
As we prepared to disconnect the truck and get HITCH ready for his stay over the weekend, we found that his FEET (levelers/stabilizers) would not release to the ground. As much as Frank tried and tried, including calling for service assistance, nothing helped ... Hydraulics would not work!
Solution: Can't disconnect - so we kept him Hitched to the truck and we put out the slides ... plugged him into the electricity as planned (Frank installed a 30 and 50 amp plugs just for HITCH) ... and we were camped, but had no vehicle for ourselves and the floor was a bit unsteady, but doable.

After a day of travel and electrical work, we were treated to a delicious Low Shrimp Boil and a retirement celebration. Lucky Franky Baby!
We proceeded to enjoy the weekend and we definitely got what we came for ... bunches of adorability from Jaxson, sweetness from Brady, and loads of hospitality from Jaret and Casey which included home-cooked meals fit for a King (that was Frank). They even celebrated Frank's retirement with a cake and Jolly Good Fellow song.
We enjoyed a boat ride in Charlotte Harbor and came upon Alligator Reef. The weekend was perfect as well as the ride home. Even though we had to leave HITCH at the dealership -- all in all it worked out great so we didn't have to experience this on our trip away in July. It was just luck that we were somewhere that we could use a vehicle and continue with our enjoyment.
Now, waiting for HITCH to get his replacement parts before we leave first part of July!!! Stay tuned.
