That's what happens when you GET HIGH in VIRGINIA.
3950 feet high, that is!
As we are moving right along from the Colonial Coast to the Virginia Highlands, the mountains surround us like a big hug from Mother Earth. Completely different environment and finally a bit cooler!
We decided to prioritize our week in Waynesboro/Charlottesville and begin with the MUST -DO's first.
Naturally, Skyline Drive was first on the list. A beautiful day greeted us and we were off!
Rev'd up good ole Henry (Ford Truck, that is) and headed to the start of this trip ... not knowing how much of the 105 miles we were going to do, but we were ready with cooler and refreshments in tow.

It was a beautiful day and trip ... and as many of you know - there is absolutely no way to capture the essence of the expansive mountains and valleys ... a panoramic scene only completely absorbed with an up close and personal view ... but here are a few shots to give you the breath-taking essence of the 77 or so miles that we did that day. Hoping to do the rest later in the week.
Of course, to really connect to Mother Nature and feel the warm hug being offered by Mother Earth ... I brought a few things along to leave the energy and vibration from
